legal
terms of use
Effective 13 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the Odds Are app and this website. By using them you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. Odds Are is made by Alon Ben David, an independent developer ("we").
1. The game
Odds Are is a game of probability puzzles, trivia and chess, for fun and learning. We check every puzzle's answer carefully, but the content is for entertainment and education. It isn't advice about money, betting, health or anything else.
2. Your account
- You can play most of the game without an account. Online features need one.
- Your nickname is made from two words the app picks, and it can't be changed later.
- An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in email and codes to yourself.
- If you don't connect an email, your account lives only on your phone, and deleting the app or losing the phone loses it.
3. Age
Players of any age are welcome. If you're under the age where you can agree to terms yourself in your country, a parent or carer must agree for you and is responsible for how you use the app. Players under 13 get extra protections described in our privacy policy.
4. Play fair and be kind
Don't:
- cheat, for example by using a chess engine in online games or submitting fake scores;
- use bots or scripts, or exploit bugs;
- harass, threaten or bully other players, or misuse invite keys;
- try to access other players' data or attack the service;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app.
We can remove scores, reset leaderboards, or suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.
5. Purchases
The app is currently free. If we add paid features or subscriptions, they'll be sold through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, and we'll update these terms first.
6. Our content
The app, its puzzles, pictures, sounds, voices and code belong to us. You may share screenshots and your results. Otherwise, please don't reuse our content without permission.
7. Changes and availability
We may change, pause or end features, including online play and leaderboards. We'll try to give notice of big changes in the app. You can stop using Odds Are and delete your account at any time.
8. No guarantees
We provide the app "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses or for lost game progress or scores. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
9. Apple
If you got the app from the App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support, and Apple's standard terms for licensed apps also apply.
